Mumbai chutney/Bombay (Basin chutney) recipe


Ingredients
  • 1 cup Onion
  • ½ cup Tomato
  • Garlic 4 to 5 cloves
  • ½ tbspn Ginger
  • 3 tbspn Basin
  • ¼ cup Coriander leaves
  • 3 Red chillies
  • 2 tbspn Oil
  • ½ tbspn Mustard

Method
  • Chop onions, tomatoes & garlic.
  • Heat the pan add oil & add mustard and let it to crackle.
  • Add chopped onion, tomato, garlic & red chillies.
  • Add 3 cups of water and salt to taste.
  • Take ½ cup of water and mix basin well and make it a paste, add the paste over the boiling chutney.
  • Let it boil for 5mins.
  • Add some chopped coriander leaves and serve the chutney with either idly, dosa, Chapattis etc.
